Back pain is perhaps the leading ailment of sufferers worldwide. More than 80 percent of the human population will experience some form of back ache in their lifetime. Many are in a chronic state of pain where it can affect well being and a chance to lead a normal life.

CBD or Cannabidiol has been much-talked about in recent years as a relief against many aches, diseases, ailments and pains. The compound, which is extracted from the cannabis plant, can be taken in many formats.

Is CBD Good for Back Pain?

CBD is fast becoming a household term for its wide ranging ability to treat pain and conditions that affect our daily lives. Because of the way CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system in our body, it creates a stable condition across the entire system. Moreover, this is good for back pain.

The endocannabinoid system plays a significant part of how we feel including our well being and mood. It even helps to regulate how we actually feel pain. It is not a pain killer, per se, more a pain manager. What is better is that it comes with none of the harmful and troublesome side effects seen in opiates or NSAIDs so often prescribed by our doctors.

CBD Oil or Back Pain

CBD oil can be taken in a variety of formats. CBD candy can be used as an effective way of eating confectionery that will ultimately help to cure back pain. But CBD oil is dynamic in the way it can be manufactured into lotions, confectionery, capsules, back patches and even tinctures.

CBD oil can enhance our body’s natural healing process. Taking opiates or pharmaceutical painkillers is simply not going to do anything more than temporarily block pain. It will return as soon as the painkillers have worn off.

Whereas CBD oil works first time and every time. Painkillers will ultimately not produce as much effectiveness over time. This is because the liver and kidneys will work against painkillers and other pharmaceutical pain relievers over time.

CBD Oil can be consumed in so many different formats that bypass the digestive system which over the course of time, it will continue to work with great effectiveness in relieving back pain.

CBD or THC for Back Pain?

Sufferers of back pain can choose NSAIDs, opioids, spine injections or CBD. The safest and most effective option is to use CBD oil. But does CBD work better when mixed with its twin counterpart THC?

THC is the compound within the cannabis plant that gets you high. It does so by hooking onto the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the brain. At the same time it also interacts with many of the body’s natural receptors.

CBD does not interact with the two brain receptors, thus no psychoactive high is formulated after taking the oil. Remember, there is never a need to take medicinal cannabis in the form of recreational marijuana that has been used for decades.

CBD can be applied via a CBD topical salve that rubs gently into the affected area, CBD capsules or tablets that can be simply popped into the mouth, or swallowed with water or CBD gummies.

If we add THC to the CBD mix it can work more effectively as the so-called “entourage effect” comes into play. This is where consuming the entire plant rather than one component of it (as in CBD) becomes more effective all over in pain relief.

CBD Lotion for Back Pain

There is a strong possibility that you are reading this because you might be suffering from years of chronic pain. It may please you to know that there is a new kid on the block in the form of a topical cream. A CBD muscle rub can dynamically get to the heart of back pain and offer relief.

CBD arthritis cream or a CBD balm which is applied topically contains a compound taken from the cannabis plant. But do not worry: you are not about to get high or start hallucinating moments after applying a CBD muscle rub.

A CBD topical salve acts in a similar way to a Hemp Lucid MCT Oil where the lotion gets to the body’s natural endocannabinoids and works hard to relive pain and modify the complex muscles and tissues around the lower back, sciatic nerve, or central back system.

CBD Patches for Back Pain

The cannabis plant has been around as a pain killer for centuries. Marijuana leaves are often placed across the area to relieve pain. It worked then and it works today. But instead of a cannabis leaf as your patch, it is now possible to use CBD patches (similar to nicotine patches for smokers trying to give up) which can be applied to affected area for pain relief.

CBD Pills for Back Pain

The application of topical lotions or salves is often very difficult for some sufferers of back pain. Reaching around to the area of the body that suffers the most is cumbersome. This is particularly the case with elderly patients who do not have a regular carer handy to help apply the CBD topical salve.

CBD pills are infused with a compound taken straight from the cannabis plant. One which is effective for dynamic pain relief without all the side effects suffered through taking opiates, NSAIDs or general pharmaceutical pain killers.

CBD Dosage for Back Pain

How much CBD should you take for relief of back pain? CBD oil has yet to receive an official safe dosage measurement. Many will tell you to take one droplet a day. However, this may not be enough for some back pain sufferers.

The best way to estimate your dosage is to work it out from your body weight. A good way of measuring this is to take no more than 6 mg of CBD oil every day for every 10 pounds of your body weight.

If the pain is mild, reduce the dosage to 3 mg of CBD oil for every 10 pounds of body weight. Therefore, a 200-pound person can consume 60mg of CBD per day. But remember to start off with much lower doses at first and gradually increase to these levels as a maximum.
